6 People Hurt After SEPTA Trolley Crashes Into Freight Train In Delaware County
Multiple people were hurt after a SEPTA trolley crashed into a freight train Thursday morning in Delaware County, authorities said. Authorities were called to the scene at South 6th Street and Main Street in Darby around 8:30 a.m., where they discovered six people who had been injured, one of whom was the trolley operator, a SEPTA spokesperson told Daily Voice. One person was killed and another injured after the Jeep Cherokee they were driving was hit by a train in the region. The incident took place around 4 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 1, in Ulster County when Kingston Police responded to a report of a car struck by a train at the Smith Avenue crossing. Suspected Pipe Bomb Found On Tenafly RR Tracks Stops Traffic, Turns Out Harmless
The stray tube spotted by a passerby with wires hanging out of it on the CSX tracks in Tenafly Friday morning could've been mistaken for a pipe bomb. It turned out to be a piece of railroad equipment, police said. The call came in from the tracks along Piermont Road near Riveredge Road shortly before 9 a.m., Capt. Michael deMoncada said. UPDATE: A 16-year-old Demarest boy died from an apparent suicide when he was struck by a freight train in Haworth before dawn Wednesday, authorities confirmed. The MTA has taken steps to ensure the safety of Metro-North riders. Metro-North President Catherine Rinaldi announced that “Positive Train Control” has been extended to cover nearly 90 percent of the Hudson Line. Tractor-Trailer Hit by CSX Train In West Nyack, Police Say
A tractor-trailer and CSX train collided in West Nyack, cutting power to the area. The collision took place around 2 p.m., Friday, Oct. 11, at the Pineview Crossing, said the Clarkstown Police. The crash took down power wires, with some 30 customers left without power. There were no injuries reported, police said. An investigation is underway.

Woman, 25, Struck, Killed By Freight Train In Bergenfield
A 25-year-old woman was struck and killed overnight Tuesday by a freight train in Bergenfield. Authorities suspect suicide, Bergenfield Police Lt. William Duran said. The woman was struck by a northbound CSX train headed to New York State around 12:10 a.m. just south of the New Bridge Road crossing. The locomotive stopped 300 feet before the Clinton Avenue crossing. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Bergenfield police responded along with CSX railroad police and representatives and the Bergen County Sheriff's Bureau of Criminal Identification, which collected evidence.

Man Struck By Freight Train In Teaneck
A man struck by a freight train in Teaneck Saturday afternoon was initially conscious although severely hemorrhaging and in need of an amputation, responders said. CPR was underway in the ambulance as it headed to Hackensack University Medical Center with a police escort following the incident at Amsterdam and Palisade avenues shortly before 4 p.m. It wasn't immediately clear whether the incident was considered accidental or deliberate. A stopped freight train in Northvale blocked several crossings into Tappan, N.Y. Saturday afternoon, responders said. Raod closures were posted on westbound Old Tappan Road, Greenbush Road and a portion of Andre Avenue. It was initially unclear why the CSX train was stopped.

Police: Dumont Man Struck, Killed By Freight Train In Bergenfield Suicide
UPDATE: A freight train struck and killed a Dumont man in Bergenfield Tuesday in what police said was a suicide. The 55-year-old kneeled down on the tracks near Church Street as the CSX train approached around 1:40 p.m., Capt. Mustafa Rabboh said. The man "parked his vehicle a short distance away, waited for the train, then kneeled on the tracks as the train approached," Rabboh said. He was pronounced deceased at the scene. Man Injured After Train Hits Car In West Nyack
One person was injured after a northbound CSX train hit a car Saturday morning in West Nyack. The incident occurred around 7:30 a.m. at the Pineview Road crossing, Clarkstown Police said. The male driver of the passenger vehicle was taken to Nyack Hospital with minor injuries, police said. The investigation will continue to determine the cause of the accident, according to police.
